Hannah Shergold is an exciting, young sculptress who has established herself as a leading name in bronze animal sculpture. Having graduated from her pre-clinical veterinary degree at Cambridge University she has applied her anatomical knowledge to her true passion of art. Her understanding undoubtedly contributes to the uncanny qualities of movement and life which she expresses in her work. Hannah’s sculptures combine photographic detail with a remarkable communication of spirit. Her versatility and ability to capture the essence of an animal is second to none. This combined with the superior quality bronze casting produced by the Lockbund Foundry in Oxfordshire ensures that her work has the superior finish and weight that discerning clients have come to expect. |

The Commission Service |
||||||||||||||
For customers wishing to purchase a bespoke work of art a full commission service is available. From lifesize portraits of champion stallions to stunning birds of prey, from petite gifts to architectural public art, any sculpture can be designed and created to your exact specifications. Hannah’s animal portraiture captures both the animal's physical conformation and its temperament or mood. Subtle alterations to an eyebrow, muzzle, ear or nostril all have a dramatic influence on the accuracy. It is these small but important elements that make the portrait truly represent the subject. For larger installations photographs, sketches and three-dimensional preparatory models are used to help visualise the finished sculpture so that together we will refine and finalise a design. All aspects of the piece are considered - mounting, lighting and even the surrounding landscape design or planting scheme in order that the bronze is used to its maximum effect. |
