To mark the end of Lieutenant General Sir Tyrone Urch's tenure as Chief Royal Engineer Hannah was commissioned to paint his portrait for the Officers' Mess in Chatham, Kent. The brief was to create a painting that reflected a shift towards the contemporary whilst still maintaining a connection to the traditions of the Officers's Mess and its history.
